Installation

What’s Your Destination? - Research influenced by the desert and city ecosystems of the Middle East in Doha, Qatar, will inform and provide inspiration for mixed media drawings and a large scale fiber based installation that incorporates sound, sight, and texture. Research will be conducted onsite at key heritage sites, museums, and parks within Doha. This work is funded by an Arkansas State University Middle East Grant.

Work and research will be conducted during the summer and fall of 2023. This series will include a variety of mixed media drawings, wearable art garments, and a large scale fiber installation. In progress photos coming soon.

Drawing

Flight of Feathers - From birds of pray to fowl and all the feathers in-between. This series will feature a variation of otherworldly birds and their ever changing environment tied to survival, consumption, and things they encounter.

WEARABLE Art

Scorching Hot - How does one protect their body, radiate self-expression, and challenge social standards? Fashion and wearable art creates a gateway to modify and amend rigid systems while paying respect to traditions and customs. This wearable art series is inspired by desert and urban living within the Middle East. Some clothing created will be worn while visiting Doha and some items will be created after, with fabrics sourced at local Souqs. Ultimately this series examines how outsiders navigate nonnative social norms while staying true to their own believes. This work is funded by an Arkansas State University Middle East Grant.
