Kristen Franyutti is a Michigan based artist who received her B.F.A in fashion design from the University of North Texas, and her M.F.A in studio art from Michigan State University. She was born in Oklahoma City, has lived in Dallas TX, Manhattan NY, and Detroit MI, and has traveled throughout the world, including, the Middle East, Asia, and Europe. She has exhibited internationally in Canada and Australia. Furthermore, her work has been shown throughout the US in galleries and museums, including the A.I.R Gallery in Brooklyn, the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum in Michigan, Bradbury Art Museum in Arkansas, just to name few. Additionally, she has won multiple exhibitions awards and has been featured in publications including Fiber Art Now. Kristen currently teaches at Arkansas State University as an Assistant Professor in Foundations & Fibers. Before teaching at Astate She worked as a fixed-term Assistant Professor in Foundations at Michigan State University, and currently splits her time between Jonesboro AR and Detroit MI.
